oops!

I was going to give a little teaser to my new novel, but because my brain has been everywhere but where it's suppose to be I forgot the notebook I'm writing on at home. Sorry. Maybe tomorrow I will have it together.

I'm still waiting on City Stone Publishing to inquire about my book. Keep your fingers crossed.

readers

I will be gettin' back to posting on this blogsite daily because I know their are people out there are reading it.

big things poppin'

Sorry my lovely, loyal fans. I've been gettin' it in with this book thing. I'm halfway through the sequel to Without Consent. I still haven't found a name for the book which is kind of bothering me but it is what it is. The only thing that I have come up with is 'Bittersweet Revenge' but I'm not gaga over the title yet.

Ok. Other thangs I've been doin' is I've decided to create like a e-zine that friends, family, etc. can get a hold to a read. I think I wanna do it once a month because I'm still in school and I'm still on the grind with my book so we will see what happens. If anyone has any suggestions, go to my facebook page, email me rice_talia@yahoo.com, whatever you feel like you need to do to get at me. I wanna have it so that people in the Fort Wayne, misc. areas could shine, (whatever their hustle is) everyone loves free publicity and that's what I'm tryin to do.

Again, I am about halfway through with the sequel already, so look out for little snippets of that. I definitely took it to anotha level. I'm proud of myself! I'm going to give myself high fives for it. But seriously continue to support a bish!

On pause

Oh in case you're wondering yes I did put Another Woman's Man on pause. I'll get back to it after I write the sequel to Without Consent. Any ideas on the title for this one.

revised version

I can't remember if I posted the revised version of Without Consent Chapter 1 because I've been doing too much lately. But that's a good thing because I'm on my grind where I need to be right. Ok so the reason for the switch from the original is because it didn't seem like a good way to start a psychological thriller to me. These last few weeks I've been obsessed with thriller novels, some good ones, Tami Hoag's Deeper than the Dead; Lucretia Grindle's The Nightspinners; check them out. Anywayz, back to me, I pasted the first three pages of my novel hopefully it sounds good to you cause it did to me. High fives to me!

The small red light flashed to green letting him know he successfully unlocked the system. He had exactly forty-five seconds to go through the white painted fence. His Gucci shoes stepped over the guard's body careful not to step into the blood now slowly starting to seep out of the small hole in the back of his head. At first glance someone would think the thirty-something year old security guard was sleeping away possibly from a late night of drinking. A closer look told a different story. A small smile was still on his lips; at least his last memory was a happy one. Too bad it had to end this way for him. If Dreary Meadows had not gone and changed their security code to get into the lush gated community than he would not have had to murder him.

His shoes clicked clacked back to his car careful to stay clear of the security camera posted in the corner of the small building. He calculated the time perfectly. As soon as the butt of his Mazarati glided through the gate was starting to close again. He already knew his destination, Millowbrook and Fitch under the green street lamp. His car quietly shut off, cutting the heated seats off. This morning the air had a bite to it. Winter definitely was around the corner. He was not used to the indecisive weather that Fort Wayne welcomed him with. Seventy-degrees and warm sun was the norm for him. Now he was forced to leave all of it because of one slip up that almost caused him to be someone's bitch in prison. Orange was not his color. The ten thousand dollars each month for a lawyer had paid off. Now it was time to start over somewhere else; Fort Wayne was that new chapter. He underestimated his addiction though, seeing her running that one morning brought back the sensation that tickled the small hairs on the back of his neck and the twitch in his right eye. Like a police dog her scent was embedded into his nose and it refused to be shake off. His trips back became more frequent.

The purpose was to get her schedule and he successfully did it. The schedule was easy and predictable. Three nights a week she would spend the night over her boyfriend's house which was the reason for this visit. Each morning she would run otherwise Foster Park was her choice of trail to run after she would leave Burkhart Advertising. Every Sunday she goes to church with her family that compiled of two sisters, a brother, and a white girl whom he assumed was her best friend. Her parents were still married. After church they would all meet at her parent's house for dinner. He smiled at himself for knowing what he knew in the short time allotted to find out. A detective should have been his profession. He also knew she had expensive tastes. Her closet was filled with top designer clothes along with rows of boots and heels. She only owed one pair of gym shoes, her Nike Shocks. The whole condo was meticulously clean, almost in an anal way. Not a cobweb was found anywhere. Barely anything was in her refrigerator that was unhealthy. Fruits, vegetables, V8 juice bottles and Fiji water lined it. Her fish oil and 12 vitamins sat next to the coffee maker. The only thing out of place was the coffee cup sitting on the middle of the counter; a plush pink lip print still stuck on the edge of the cup.

There's more but then that would defeat the purpose of buying the book when it comes out.

I've started on the sequel to Without Consent right, but I think I might hold out on sneak peeks cause that would give away the most important parts to the first one. We'll see.

In case you missed it.....

In case you missed it, here's a Synopsis of my book Without Consent.

Is it possible to delve into the mind of a rapist?

Ever since he was younger, sex has always been a part of him, consensually or not. Little girls in the Catholic school twirling around on the playground with their pigtails flapping in the muggy air enticed him until he pulled them into the darkest part of the gym, empty classroom or where ever he could be alone with them. He re-creates what a family member has done to him millions of times in his own bedroom. Now as a successful and attractive family man the past has come back to take residence again.

I did not consent to this…

Her mother warns her. They echo through twenty-eight year old Nia Johnson’s mind as she is taken from the running trail as though she never existed. In his mind they share a deep relationship with each other and she is madly in love with him as he is with her. His eyes hold a passion that even her long time boyfriend has never shown her; tattooing themselves forever in her memory bank. Those same blue eyes that blazes down on her become her eyes the nights that follows. She stands witness to his sick addiction through her dreams only to have those same nameless faces appear on the front pages of the newspaper under the words ‘Another Murder’. Nia’s mind, by force, becomes dark as ruined film. An unbreakable armor covers her heart. She assumes all of the stress from keeping this a secret is making her physically sick. Something told her to visit the nearest twenty-four hour convenience store to buy of all things, a pregnancy test to prove her fears are just in her head. The two pink lines show bright on the stick almost mocking her. Nia has never run so fast in her life as the day she runs to the abortion clinic. A Higher Power has other plans, its name, Crystal, her baby sister.

Three years later a familiar stranger heads over the department Nia wants to manage. Uneasiness settles in every time he is around but she can’t put her finger on as to why. The faces of women start to appear on the front pages again and her nightmares returns but fuzzy. When her son stands next to his youngest son it looks like a mirror is placed in front of him and those five minutes once again comes flooding back full force. Nia has craved for this opportunity to come face to face with her rapist. Now that he is actually touchable she feels powerless. Sensing this he plays on her emotions. A game of cat and mouse ensues. One by one he takes a liking to torturing anyone close to her until the last eightball stands alone cornered. An unexpected pawn comes into the equation. His wife, who knew about her husband’s sick obsession, refuses to let Nia ruin what her husband has worked so hard to create, unbeknownst to him. Some secrets are better left unsaid. But whatever is done in the dark will come to light. She sets up a mock meeting in their old hometown of Atlanta to finish the job her husband should have finished. Leaving Nia for dead she enters the plane to be home before her husband gets off of work. Bonnie and Clyde is shown in its truest form. Her plan is squashed when the Atlanta police catch her, arresting her for attempted murder as well as fifteen other murders before lift off.
Without Consent is the psychological thriller that keeps you guessing and turning the pages to contagious characters, suspense, and a chilling plot that will have you asking, what would you do.
