I'm back witih another one!

I've been at a hiatis because I've been sick but that should not be an excuse to keep updating my diary. Here's another juicy sample of 'Without Consent'.

Nia leaned against the cool brick building. Her heart raced damn near out of her chest. Even though the temperature was ten below her palms held a thick layer of sweat. Eternity seemed to hold time for the moment. Eventually her breathing became normal enough to get her out of the panic state. She opened her eyes and had to blink a couple of times to adjust to the outside light. A sea of cars filled the whole parking lot and the side street caddy corner to the funeral home. A light bounced off of her eyes and Nia had turned her head to see where it was coming from. The Mazarati that has haunted her was pulling out onto Maumee street. Disregarding the black ice and the four inch heels that she was wearing, Nia sprinted toward the infamous car. Behind her Danielle voice rang out but it blended in with the wind that was now whistling in her ears. As luck would have it, a small pile of bricks left over from a previous construction job over the summer lay in a neat pile by a lamp post. Nia, not breaking her stride swooped one up in her hand and with perfect precision threw the brick. It landed perfectly on the side next to the gas tank.

"Bring your ass back, you piece of shit!" she called out. "You scared mu'fucka! Bring yo shit back so I can finish you off!"

Danielle by then caught up with Nia out of breath. "Who...the hell...was...that?"

"That sick bastard had the nerve to show up at the funeral! Gimme your phone!" Nia demanded. She dialed Officer Frank's direct line.

"Officer Frank."

Without any hint of just running in four inch heels Nia blurted out, "He was here!" She heard Frank excuse himself then heard his shoes clanking against the floor as he walked.

"Nia Johnson?"

"Yes! That sick bastard was just here!"

"Where are you?"

"At the funeral home on Jefferson!"

"Stay right there, I'm on my way!" The phone line immediately went dead.

A banger

Two days ago I came across another Drake banger. The song is called 'Forever' and guest stars Lil' Wayne(of course), Kanye, and Eminem. Yes I said Eminem. Check it out on NecoleBitchie.com! Trust me you are going to want to download it. Drake is really stepping his game up.
Last night into early this morning I spent some time trying to rewrite a chapter that lacked something, I was not sure but I think I might have gotten it together. Here's a part of it.

Nia's watery eyes zoomed in on Bryan while the previous day's conversation blasted loudly in the back of her mind not letting her forget the harsh accusations she spat out at him. Now he lay damn near dead in front of her, all because of her. Anyone close to her seem to have their life almost taken from up under them. It was like he was toying with her; pushing her to the edge of wanting to kill her damn self just so this can end. Her family is on the verge of disowning her after yesterday, especially her mama. That look she had given Nia that morning. The last time Mama Johnson ignored her she was ten and decided to talk slick to her like the white kids did in the grocery stores. Her mama ignored her for a whole day but to Nia it seemed like an eternity at that age. She would have taken the butt whooping any day. Her father quickly made her change her mind on that idea because as soon as he came in from work he found the thickest belt in his closet and tagged her behind while she was still soak and wet from just taking a shower. As an adult the look still did not soften.
Nia needed to change this, she should have killed him while she had the chance. She just knew she would scare him into quitting this cat and mouse game. The police did not want to help. The black abyss popped in her head, huge breasts, electric pink lipstick and all; laughing like a hyena. Even though he was nowhere near her the smell of Officer Frank's rancid breath took over the disinfected smell in the room. Vomit bubbled up in the back of her throat. She took huge gulps to prevent herself from turning the mirror surfaced floor into a toilet.
She wanted time to reverse itself all the way to that day when Crystal stopped her from getting that abortion. She would have never known that Cain was the one that had changed her life. She wouldn't be sitting here staring at her first and only love holding her own breath with each breath he took praying it was not his last. She also would not be without a job; even though she wanted to run her boss over and make him eat his own shit, she would have sucked it all up and stayed at Burkhart.
Her breathing almost became non existent the longer she rewound the past four years in her mental movie screen. Her hands gripped the arms again. The walls started to turn as though she was on a carousel. The temperature in the room seemed to soar way over 100 degrees. Nia stormed over to the windows and scrambled with clumsy fingers to get it open. Frigid December air evaporated the thick layer of sweat that had formed on her face. Slow breaths escaped her lips sending a thin layer of what looked like smoke into the dreary air. Frost crystals settled around the edges of her nostrils.
She wanted to turn around and go back over to his bedside; however, each time she tried to force her legs to turn around they backed out. She did not need to look at him. That was not the last image she wanted to have of Bryan. But the memory was so vivid like HD on a tv screen. She took a few more large gulps of cold air before shutting the window. Her eyes strained to focus on the door as she walked forward. What if this truly was going to be the last time she would see him? Her guilt fought and won the battle. Her feet barely touched the floor as she glided over to his bedside. She bent over him and placed soft kisses all over his face, leaving her lips on his skin a little longer with each kiss. Her tears replaced the kisses soon thereafter. Nia took her heels off and left them where she stood as she crawled into bed next to him. Her thin but muscular arm wrapped around his torso; she made sure that she did not rip out his iv. She let the feel of his heartbeat under her hand drift her off to sleep.

Quick synopsis

I'm testing this out to see if this is what I want to send to agents. Maybe with it being on a computer screen I can see what they would see and point out anything that do not sound right cause I am too much of a perfectionist, you know what I mean!

WITHOUT CONSENT

Twenty-eight year old Nia Johnson is the most talented graphic designer in the midwest, and her racist, chauvinistic boss knows this but still treats her like a runaway slave. She has the sexiest hustla around the way along with the tightest family. So why has Nia took the 5th amendment and ran to the abortion clinic once she realized she conceived a child out of a vicious rape? Her and her rapist have become closer than she wanted. Each night she is reminded by this; however, she eventually realizes that these are no dreams, she actually is watching him do the same thing to other women who resemble her! Coincidentally he ends up being her supervisor years later. All bets are up. Who can eliminate whose family first?

teaser...

Originally she wanted to run only for a half an hour, but that quickly turned into a hour and a half. She stopped right at the entrance to the exclusive neighborhood to catch her breath. Her body collapsed against the metal fence. The coolness from it felt good against her skin. She closed her eyes while the sweat on her face dried up. A ringing from a phone jolted Nia back to the present. Her neck snapped left to right as she tried to pinpoint where it was coming from. A few feet from where she was standing an indigo blue Mazarati was parked. The driver’s side window was rolled down enough for Nia to see the forehead to what appeared to be a white person. She was not sure if it was a man or a woman. Bryan’s threatening words screamed out in her head.

“Hello?!” His breathing became rapid.

“Hi honey. Did I interrupt something, you sound irritated?”

His eyes stayed glued to Nia’s firm body leaning up against the gate. “I’m busy. What do you want?!” His jaws tightened making his back teeth grind against each other.

“Just wanted to know when you’re coming back home to Atlanta?”

“We’ve already discussed this! My flight leaves in two hours!” His eyes left his prize possession for a second. Next time he looked at her, she was diagonal to his car. He slouched down farther into his leather seat. The presidential tinting on his Mazarati prevented anyone, especially her from seeing him.

“I can’t wait to see you. I bought…”

“Whatever! Listen I gotta go!” She was gone out of his sight now. He threw his Blackberry causing it to break into pieces against the dashboard. His neck popped as his head swerved around trying to get a glimpse of her again. The only thing that was left of her was a trace of her vanilla scent. He almost let the window down to get more of her scent but pushed that idea out of his head quick. He did not want anyone to notice him. He already slipped by letting his window down just a little. Another quick glance was stolen before his Mazarati purred to life. His fingers punched in the three digit code that he easily got from tapping into the Neighborhood Association’s database. The white gates opened up slowly in front of him. His patience made him push down on the accelerator. The car barely missed getting its paint scraped off the sides as the speedometer pushed 60 mph in two seconds. His screeching tires headed toward the airport.

I am in the process of giving a taste of what I am writing but I need to get my little synopsis together first. I put a little bit on my facebook page so anyone could see it but I want it to be right when I post it here.

It's official

Today is the first day of me getting into the blogging thing. My purpose for this is to expose myself to publishers as well as agents. Currently I am an unpublished writer. I want to make writing my career. I want everyone to know what I'm about and be able to network with people who are going through the same process of trying to get published or to anyone who have been where I am at and can give me suggestions. I will be posting small snippets of whatever I am working on so that I can get feedback from future fans of my work. Don't be shy, if you are not feeling it post a comment and let me know. If you are feeling it also post a comment.
